Due to a strong need for lane changing, turbulence in traffic flow is created in weaving sections, decreasing speed and capacity. This study develops and validates two models to predict speed rates in weaving and non-weaving traffic on nine arterial sections in Tehran. Results show that increasing weaving density and lane change rate reduce speed. The proposed models outperform HCM 2010 under similar conditions.
