This research compares slide zones created using the Nilsen method with active tectonic zones derived from the Smf index. Using DEM, topographic, geological, and tectonic maps in GIS, landslide hazard and active tectonic zonation maps were generated. The study area, located in the Karaj watershed, was analyzed for geological and geomorphological factors. Landslide hazard zones were categorized into five classes, while Smf-based tectonic zones were classified into three classes. Results showed that 71% of landslide-prone areas corresponded with the most active tectonic zones (Smf Class A), suggesting a strong relationship between active tectonics and landslide susceptibility.
