This paper revisits the classical principle of energy conservation in the context of charged capacitors, focusing on the overlooked repulsive electrostatic potential energy in capacitor plates. It argues that conventional capacitor theory underestimates the total energy by ignoring this component. By analyzing spherical capacitors, the study quantifies repulsive self-energy in addition to attractive field energy. Furthermore, it explores how such energy might explain anomalous observations in historical energy devices by Tesla, Moray, and Meyer, asserting that proper discharge mechanisms could convert this potential into usable electrical energy.
